REHEAT & STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Not eating all your bounty right away? Here’s how to keep everything fresh and flaky for later.

STORING FOR LATER / NEXT MORNING

While it’s best to eat your goods the same day, Butterbang croissants will keep reasonably fresh until the next morning with these tips.

  • Leave your croissant bag or box wide-open until you eat them (yes, even overnight). Croissants quickly lose flakiness without plenty of airflow, especially on humid days. If you’ll be eating them later in the day or the next morning, follow the reheating instructions in the next section to restore flake and tenderness.

  • If not eating within 3 hours of pickup, refrigerate Bang Bars and products with cream cheese, goat cheese, whipped cream, curd, custard or meat.

  • Croissant Loaf stays fresh for up to 2 days un-sliced in a closed bag at room temp.

  • Cardamom Hearts stay crispy for up to 5 days in an open bag at room temp.

  • Scones stay moist for up to 5 days in a closed bag at room temp.

REHEATING

Never microwave your croissants; they will turn rubbery and soft. Keep an eye on your oven, as items can burn quickly. Bang Bars and Yum Rolls can also be reheated for maximum enjoyment.

  • Oven: 300°F, 3-5 minutes, or until flaky and fragrant; almost like fresh-out-of-the oven again!

  • Toaster oven: 300°F, 3-5 mins; tent with foil to keep tops from scorching

These items should not be reheated:

  • Croissants with cold fillings like whipped cream, curd, or custard. However, Almond, Pumpkin Pie and other fillings reheat well.

  • Vanilla Glazed: reheating may dry out the glaze

  • Cardamom Hearts: reheating may change the texture

  • Scones: reheating may dry them out

FREEZING

Your croissants will always have the best texture when eaten the same day. If not eating within 24 hours, you can freeze your croissants, Bang Bars, or Croissant Loaf (whole/sliced) for future enjoyment.

  • Seal items well in airtight bags, containers or plastic wrap.

  • Freeze items the day you receive them - once stale, always stale.

  • Keep frozen for up to a month.

  • To enjoy, thaw items on a baking sheet at room temp for an hour, then follow reheating instructions above.

  • Scones can also be frozen, and do not need to be reheated after thawing.

  • Croissant Loaf slices can be warmed/toasted as desired after thawing.

Freezing may negatively affect the texture and enjoyment of these items:

  • Cardamom Hearts

  • Vanilla Glazed

  • Croissants filled with whipped cream, curd, or custard
